Dems gamble by shifting fire from Bush to Boehner

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama has frequently reminded Americans that the nation's economic crisis began under George W. Bush, a largely unpopular and universally known foil. Now all but ignoring Bush, Obama is criticizing a Republican most voters have never heard of: House Minority Leader John Boehner.

The shift represents a gamble for Democrats, and a tacit acknowledgment that bashing Bush — doing so helped them win big victories in 2006 and 2008 — has basically lost its magic.

The risk for Obama and fellow Democrats is that millions of Americans will scratch their heads when they hear Boehner's name (pronounced BAY'-nur). Democratic strategists, however, say the White House has few choices.

To highlight the alleged dangers of Republican stands on taxes, health care and other issues, "it requires giving a face to the policy," said Jim Margolis, a media adviser for Obama and several Democratic senators.

Margolis said Democrats must show that "this isn't just a broad-based attack on generic Republicans," but instead is a warning about the goals and policies of the man who will become House speaker if Republicans win the majority on Nov. 2. They would have to win at least 40 seats to do so.

Republicans scoff at the strategic shift. They say it shows that Democrats are grasping at political straws and unable to ease voters' discontent with job losses, high deficits and bank bailouts.

"It seems an admission that they haven't been successful in trying to make this a referendum on George Bush," said GOP strategist Kevin Madden, a former Boehner spokesman.

Because Boehner is not well-known outside Washington and his Cincinnati district, Madden said, Obama and his allies "are trying to create and poison a public profile in 50 days."

Madden predicts the effort will fail. Voters care much less about personalities than jobs, taxes and spending, he said, and many will see Obama's criticisms of Boehner as unseemly.

Ed Gillespie, who was a Bush White House adviser, agreed. "Obama is making himself smaller and Boehner bigger," he said.

The shift in focus from Bush to Boehner has been dramatic.

In a speech last week in Ohio, Obama cited Boehner eight times by name, and twice as "the Republican House leader." He did not directly mention Bush or Sen. Mitch McConnell, the Senate GOP leader.

Obama portrayed Boehner, 60, as the embodiment of unwise Republican ideas, past and future.

"There were no new policies from Mr. Boehner" when he made a major economic address, Obama said. "There was just the same philosophy that we had already tried during the decade that they were in power, the same philosophy that led to this mess in the first place: Cut more taxes for millionaires and cut more rules for corporations."

Other cogs of the Democratic political machine joined in. The Democratic National Committee is airing TV ads linking Boehner to corporate lobbyists.

GOP aides note that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has raised more campaign money from lobbyists than Boehner has.

It may be tough for Democrats to turn the deeply tanned Boehner into the face of the Republican Party, whose better-known members include 2008 presidential nominee Sen. John McCain, former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and, of course, Bush.

Republicans tried to demonize Pelosi when she was on track to becoming speaker in 2006. It didn't work. Now, they are launching a bus tour to "fire Pelosi."

A Gallup poll in late May asked Americans their opinion of "House Republican leader John Boehner." About a quarter of the replies were favorable, 30 percent unfavorable, 17 percent had no opinion and 27 percent had never heard of him.

The "don't know him" category was much larger in a later Pew Research poll that offered Boehner's name but not his title and party affiliation, which can prompt certain answers from some people. The results were 12 percent favorable, 22 percent unfavorable, 12 percent no opinion and 54 percent "never heard of him."

That's no reason for Obama to refrain from singling out Boehner as the personification of the changes the nation might face if Republicans take over the House, said White House senior adviser David Axelrod.

Because Boehner recently set up a "Boehner for speaker" fund and delivered a major GOP economic speech, Axelrod said, "it's absolutely relevant to talk about him, what his ideas are, what his history is."

Axelrod said the president will continue to note that the deep recession and Wall Street swoon began during Bush's administration. However, he said, Obama has never wanted "to relitigate the Bush years or gratuitously invoke President Bush."

Some lawmakers thought Boehner wobbled a little on Sunday when he said that, if he had no other choice, he would support an extension of Bush's major tax cuts for all but the wealthiest 2 percent or 3 percent of Americans. The comment seemed at odds with other top Republicans' insistence that all the tax cuts remain in place, which has prompted a standoff in Congress.

Boehner's aides dismissed the hubbub, saying their boss made it clear he supports that stand. Obama, meanwhile, says that is precisely what Americans need to know.

"Let me be clear to Mr. Boehner and everybody else," Obama said in Ohio. "We should not hold middle-class tax cuts hostage any longer," and Congress should vote to "give tax cuts to every American making $250,000 or less," he said.

Come November, Boehner's stature and status may matter little in races to fill 435 House seats, 37 Senate seats and 37 governor's seats. People generally vote for or against someone on the ballot, without great regard to endorsements by others, Margolis said.

"Most campaigns will not be hugely impacted by these outside personalities," he said.

That won't stop Obama and other Democrats from continuing to demonize Boehner, the leader of a party that offers few obvious targets.

As Axelrod said with a slight edge in his voice Tuesday, "He's getting better known all the time."

Health Scare: High Fructose Corn Syrup!

Bad press over health concerns has affected sales for the corn syrup industry and as a result the Associated Press reported today that corn syrup producers want to "sweeten up its image with a new name: corn sugar." The article explained:

The bid to rename the sweetener by the Corn Refiners Association comes as Americans' concerns about health and obesity have sent consumption of high fructose corn syrup, used in soft drinks but also in bread, cereal and other foods, to a 20-year low.

The group plans to apply Tuesday to the Food and Drug Administration to get "corn sugar" approved as an alternative name for food labels.

The article goes out of its way to include statements of the safety of high fructose corn syrup, claiming the only known negative health effect is obesity.

But sugar and high fructose corn syrup are nutritionally the same, and there's no evidence that the sweetener is any worse for the body than sugar, said Michael Jacobson, executive director of the Center for Science in the Public Interest. The bottom line is people should consume less of all sugars, Jacobson said.

"Soda pop sweetened with sugar is every bit as conducive to obesity as soda pop sweetened with high fructose corn syrup," he said.


"Some people have claimed that high-fructose corn syrup is no different than other sweeteners when it comes to weight gain and obesity, but our results make it clear that this just isn't true, " researcher Bart Hoebel said.
Hoebel and colleagues fed two groups of rats an identical diet, supplemented with one of two sweetened beverages. One beverage consisted of a sucrose solution in concentrations similar to those found in many sweetened beverages. The other consisted of a high-fructose corn syrup solution at roughly half the concentration of a typical soda. The researchers found that the rats consuming the corn syrup solution gained significantly more weight than the rats consuming the sucrose solution.


Additionally, a study reported by Reuters just last month exposed that cancer cells "slurp" up high fructose corn syrup and use the syrup to "divide and proliferate."

Pancreatic tumor cells use fructose to divide and proliferate, U.S. researchers said on Monday in a study that challenges the common wisdom that all sugars are the same.

Tumor cells fed both glucose and fructose used the two sugars in two different ways, the team at the University of California Los Angeles found.

This study and others have led natural health professionals like Dr. Joseph Mercola to label high fructose corn syrup "cancer's favorite food." The message is getting so loud now that the AP article mentions that Michelle Obama refuses to allow her children to consume products with corn syrup.

Nearly every processed food now contains HFCS. However, many beverage companies have already started making and promoting "new" drinks made with real sugar, a move that has been driven by consumer demand based on growing awareness over the negative health effects. Perhaps the corn syrup industry believes the public is so dumbed down that simply changing the name will erase the health concerns.

The oil in the ground is still owned by governments. The great pools of oil are not in the private sector. Letus never forget this. Governments profit from the sale ofoil. Other governments want to profit from the sale ofoil. So, demand for oil by consumers increases, but thesupply of oil is in the hands of politicians by way ofbureaucrats. Conclusion: gasoline is headed to $25. Then there is OPEC. It is a cartel of governments. All cartels break down at some point. That is the goodnews. But the more concentrated the military power topolice the cartel, the less likely it will break down. There is a reason why 50,000 American "non-combatant"troops remain in Iraq, plus 100,000 mercenaries ("privatecontractors") paid for by American taxpayers.

There will be a major war in the Persian Gulf. 3. Increased demand for oil will not be met by a countervailing increase in supply. There are three reasons why gasoline can go back to 35cents. 1. The Federal Reserve will deflate. 2. OPEC will fall apart peacefully. 3. Increased supplies of oil will not be matched by increased demand above 35 cents. Which set of options do you think is more likely? SUPPLY AND DEMAND According to the U.S. Department of Energy, every daythe world consumes 85.53 million barrels of oil. Everyday, oil producers produce 85.47 million barrels.

So, every 12 days, the world consumes a billion barrels ofoil, or 30.4 billion barrels a year. That is a lot of oil. China and India are not yet consumers of oil on alevel with the United States. In terms of per capitaconsumption of oil, the United States is #1. The next 17are island nations or oil-producing nations. The #19nation should be obvious. Their productivitywill create demand for cars. This will make themsuccessful bidders for oil. There is no way to reversethis process for long. India and China are implementingfree market principles, so per capita output is increasing. The culture of the West is dependent on energy, and theenergy of choice (at today's price) is oil. People inIndia and China want a piece of the action, and they areable to pay to buy in. We think of manufacturing as energy-intensive. Wethink of services as less energy intensive. Yet the UnitedStates has the highest per capita consumption of oil,despite the fact that the number of Americans involved inmanufacturing constitute about 12% of the workforce. Itappears that a service-based economy consumes more energyto maintain its lifestyle, and is capable of buying it, atleast for as long as Asian central banks keep buying U.S.Treasury debt at historically low interest rates. As large nations get richer, they consume more oil. India and China are the largest nations. They are gettingricher. We know what is going to happen. The auction foroil will attract more bidders. Will the arrival of thesearmies of bidders be matched by an increased supply of oil? This is the great debate today. The oil geologists who arewilling to offer an opinion disagree, so the non-geologistshave to pick sides. I don't think that a world economy (1) dominated bycentral bankers, when combined with (2) a handful of largegovernment-owned oil fields (3) whose output isadministered by the OPEC cartel, which is (4) policed bythe United States military (5) on behalf of the world'smajor oil companies is likely to match this increaseddemand at $70 a barrel. Call me a pessimist. I can takeit. Putting it differently, I think that pricing is likelyto be in terms of a giant auction. This auction will beattended by two groups: sellers of oil and buyers of oil. As in all auctions, sellers compete against sellers, whilebuyers compete against buyers. I do not see lots of newsellers competing head-to-head with the Good Oil Boys whohave controlled oil production since about 1920. On theother hand, I do see lots of new buyers. These new buyers will be welcomed by establishedbuyers with the same enthusiasm that long-establishedcollectors at an art auction welcome newly rich rock stars. "Welcome to the club" is less likely than "who let thisriff-raff in?" But anyone can buy his way in. That's thething about auctions. All it takes is money to get in. Asians and Indians will have ever-larger quantities ofmoney. In the oil market, this means dollars. Where will they get these dollars? They will buythem. From whom? From people willing to sell dollars. Who has dollars to sell? Rich Americans do. Foreigncentral banks do. The Federal Reserve System can createmore dollars at any time. What happens if Indians and Chinese buy dollars andthen buy oil? The price of oil goes up in relation toother goods and services. What happens if Indians and Chinese buy dollars, butthe Federal Reserve creates new dollars? The price of oilgoes up, along with lots of other goods and services. There seems to be a pattern here. If Israel attacks Iran by way of landing fields inSaudi Arabia (http://bit.ly/StrangeBedfellows), and if Iransinks two or three Saudi supertankers in the Hormuz Straitsin retaliation, this pattern could arrive within a fewdays. What can reverse this pattern? 1. The Federal Reserve deflates. 2. OPEC falls apart peacefully. 3. Increased supplies of oil are offered for sale. 4. Iran is left alone. This is the meaning of economic liberty: the legalright to make a bid. This is why the oil market is arigged market. The people who set the rules are supplyingthe product. They make the rules to keep high bidders --more oil per dollar -- from making bids. This is themeaning of every cartel. It's nice work if you can get it,but you can only get it with weapons. If you own a lot ofoil, you can buy weapons or hire those who own them. Here is political reality: a modern empire requiresweapons and oil. You can buy oil with weapons. You mustbuy or lease weapons to control the price of oil. Anyonewho talks of any of these three components without theother two is living mentally in the nineteenth century. CARTELS OR FREE TRADE People say they don't like cartels, but there is onlyone alternative to cartels: free trade. People say theylike free trade -- anyway, some do -- but they reallydon't. They prefer cartels. What is free trade? It is simple to understand: nogovernment interference on people's decisions to trade. Free trade is trade across invisible lines called borders. Let's begin with invisible lines separating cities fromcounties. 1. No sales taxes on imported goods 2. No quotas on imported goods 3. No export subsidies 4. No price controls 5. No currency tampering to control trade Everyone accepts this with respect to his own nation. There is only one visible exception in the United States:the closed highway border of California. You are asked tostop and declare any fruits or vegetables. They do thisbecause, in the 1930s, the state restricted poor Americansfrom driving in. The Supreme Court declared thisunconstitutional. But the state had hired all those borderguards, so it kept them on the payroll. It had to have areason. It invented one. As soon as we get to free trade across nationalborders, all five rules are jettisoned. 1. Sales taxes (tariffs) on imported goods 2. Quotas on imported goods 3. Export subsidies 4. Price controls 5. Tampering with the currency to control trade What is the logic of this? Why is one invisible linedifferent from another? The reason is clear: cartels. Certain voting blocs want favored trade. They pressureCongress to provide this. "Fair trade" is a code phrase for "protection." "Protection" is a code word for "cartels." This system really is simple to understand. Successful cartels hide behind words. So few people canfollow the logic of economics that this tactic issuccessful. There is no question in my mind what the mostsuccessful cartel in America is. It's the Federal ReserveSystem. Read any college-level textbook in economics. There is a chapter on cartels. The FED is not listed. Then read the chapter on the FED. It conforms to thedefinition of cartel in the chapter on cartels. But theword "cartel" does not appear in the chapter. How would a nation adopt free trade? Simple. 1. Reduce all tariffs to zero. 2. Eliminate all import quotas. 3. Eliminate all export subsidies. 4. Abolish all price controls. 5. Adopt a 100% private gold coin standard. That's all? That's all. Goods and services wouldflow across borders. "But what about. . . ?" Cartel. "But wouldn't this. . . ?" Cartels. "But couldn't managed trade. . . ?" Lots and lots of cartels. This brings us to the World Trade Organization: theWTO CHINA, EMPIRE, AND THE WTO The WTO is an unelected bureaucracy created byinternational agreements. It establishes the rules forgoverning free trade, by defining free trade as not beingsteps 1-5 (above). China entered the WTO in December 2001. China understands the acronym WTO differently fromwhat the Clinton-Bush administrations did. They see it asa three-step process. 1. We Take Orders. 2. We Take Oil. 3. We Take Over. What are they after? The reabsorption of Taiwan. TheUnited States stands in their way. The Chinese governmentis determined to remove this barrier. People in the West see China as just another empire. This is a major mistake. The central government of Chinais the oldest empire. This was why the national ruler wascalled the emperor a century ago. There was a reason whyit survived intact for so long. It was not an expansiveempire. It was a defensive empire. It still is. It wantshegemony over its territory. It wants to set the terms oftrade. Chinese merchants were trading with the West longbefore that upstart Julius Caesar came along. They have alot of experience in these matters. Americans tell themselves that we are the solesuperpower. The Chinese leaders take this seriously. Theyare determined to eliminate all superpowers. They followan ancient Chinese tradition that extends back amillennium. That was why they built the great wall. So, they have a plan. The plan is WTO. Their goal is to bring down the American empire. Theyknow how to do it. Be the highest bidder in the auctionfor energy. They are building dozens of nuclear power plants. They are making deals with oil-producing nations. They arepreparing for the day in which the dollar is no longer thecurrency that OPEC accepts for oil. The People's Bank of China buys dollars. The Chinesegovernment can use these dollars to buy oil. All it has todo is sell T-bills for dollars and buy oil. That woulddrive up American interest rates. This would hurt theChinese WTO: We Take Orders. The exporters would sell lessto a depression-suffering United States. But the goal ofthe Chinese government is to weaken the United States tosuch a degree that Taiwan is abandoned. At some point, the Chinese government will sellTreasury debt for dollars, and buy oil with the dollars. Gasoline is going to $25 a gallon. ------------------------------------------------------- CONCLUSION The auction for oil will intensify unless recession or depression lower demand. Otherwise, the price of oil will rise. As it rises, residents of the United States will findt hat they must readjust their spending. They must decide how to pay for their share of the oil. The Chinese rulers are planning to use this readjustment to their advantage. They expect that voters who are readjusting their budgets will be willing to seethe reduction of spending on the military. With gasoline at $25, defending Taiwan will look like a luxury that no longer is worth the expense. When the price of oil rises, the cost of empire rises. When it's a question of funding the empire or driving to work, voters will cut off the empire. The Chinese leaders are not all that inscrutable. WTO.So, after this inspiring thought why don't we all buy an extra large container to store gasoline?

The Challenge

I joined up today to do "the challenge" blog. One of my best friends Kensley told me about it, so I will be doing it with her. I'm nervous, but I have to lose 15 pounds by April 24!!!! AHHH! the hardest thing for me will be the giving up of sweets, I guess that includes chocolate... oy vay! anywya, I guess we will see how it goes, Stephanie (my sister) took me to the gym yesterday to teach me some things to do, so hopefully that will help! Giving up chips, cheese, and red meat as of friday! wish me luck!

Finally decided on the invitations!

Woot woot! Hopefully the order will get put in today, and I can start working on my calligraphy and get them addressed! We went through a TON of different invitations, but I think in the end, simply is always better! I'm very happy, and I can't wait to see them! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, so the picture I'm about to post isn't exactly what it's going to look like... but at least I can post the wording! I can't wait! Way to excited!

Wood floors are getting installed today!!!!

Yeppers! as I type (during lunch at work), future husband is at home with the guys putting the floor in! So excited! I can't wait to go and see it after work! It's funny, I get all excited and yay about it... then it makes me think of all the other work I have to get done before Chris moves in next week. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! Pulling hair out now! Why is there always so much to do and yet so little time?! Anyway, i will post pictures soon!

I hate glaze!

I'm not talking about the glaze on donuts, because well, I love that kind of glaze! I'm talking about the clear, satin sheen glaze that goes on top of the Venetian plaster I've worked so diligently on! Last night, I went to Husbands and my house to finish the glazing process of the dining room.... after 4 hours (dinner in between, which I will discuss later), I ran out of the stupid glaze! And of course at that time, Home Depot was out of the question. So I have to stop, with less then half a wall to go! I was soooooo mad! I just wanted to finish this, this, lunatic project of mine, but no, I ran out of stupid glaze because they only sell them in quarts and not gallons. Stupid glaze people! However, I will be completely finished with the Dining Room tonight.... I hope.

While in the fixing up the house project, the people at Albertson's now know my by a first name basis, because I"m in there ALL the time. It's interesting to look at my credit card statement, it goes live this: Home Depot, Albertsons, Home Depot, Albertson's, Home Depot, Albertson's... I think you get there picture. For ever purchase we make for home improvement, we make one to fill up our bellies.... The problem is, is that we don't get ingredients, we get microwavable or oven meals. Last night I went and got Stoffer's Chicken Enchiladas. it was HUGE, so I promptly called mom and asked if her and dad wanted to come over for dinner (we're close now, so I can actually do it, and it was pretty darn fun!) They came over, and being the wonderful parents that they are, they helped out with the house. Dad finished priming the master bedroom for me, while mom helped me in the dining room by cleaning the woodwork/ sanding it down so I can paint it tonight.

Oh I think I forgot to mention... Poor future husband hurt his back REALLY bad. He was attempting to put up crown molding, and he fell off the ladder and messed his back up. He can barely stand up and sit down the poor guy. but being the good sport that he is, he Cowboy'd up and taped off the chair railing so that we can paint. Gotta love a man that works through the pain! We need to get him better quickly though, because on Saturday, we have a bunch of big, strapping, burly men coming out to help us move stuff... ok, well maybe that was an over-exaggeration, but we have some guys coming out to help do the heavy lifting that I refuse to do because I want children someday! There's only 10 days left in both of our apartments until Future Husband moves into the house, and I go to my parents. So we really need to get on the ball.

Did I mention I have a cold now? The staying up late/working my butt off Routine that I've been doing for the past 2 weeks is REALLY starting to catch up with me... and let me tell you, it sucks. As I'm sitting here typing this, I'm sneezing, coughing and about to fall asleep.... Maybe moving back to my parents is a good thing, I might get more rest! Oh wait nevermind, I'm the idiot who changed her work hours to 7-4 so that I can miss traffic..... No rest for the weary I swear!

The joys of homeownership!

So Future Husband and myself bought a wonderful, beautiful, glorious house together exactly 1 1/2 weeks ago! We closed on Friday morning, and we haven't stopped working on it since! We've had a deadline because this Friday, hardwood floors are going in, so we have to get painting and crap done is certain areas of the house first. Well, being the brilliant person I am (that was dripping with sarcasm by the way), I decided HEY! let's make the dining room gorgeous and I'll spend the weekend putting Venetian Plaster on the walls and it will be OH so dramatic and beautiful! A week and a half later, and I'm still not finished! I really want to shoot myself! Oh sure it's pretty, but my arms, legs, calves, butt, head, fingers, toes, nose, eyes, and hair hurt! Between the putting up the plaster, moving things out of the apartment, unloading Husbands truck, working all day, going to class Tuesday/Thursday nights...(well ok I only go once a week but whatever!) and then priming the neon green room upstairs that will be husbands office, priming the master, painting the ceilings, painting the kitchen and the family room..... I'M EXHAUSTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It will be great though.... except for the fact that Future Husband get's to live there and reap the benefits of all my hard work while I go live back at my parents house for 5 months. Not that my parents are bad or anything, they're incredibly awesome people who have really helped us... it just generally sucks that I don't get to live in my home yet. But hey, it's only for 5 months right?!... yeah... who am I kidding. So that's generally been what's going on! Well that and I gained 3 pounds because when you're doing all this crap, you definitely don't eat healthy! I'm so sick of pizza! I never though I would EVER utter those words, but I did. Pizza is ugh to me right now, I've had pizza everyday for the past week and a half, and it's getting OLD! I now officially want SUSHI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bring on the soy sauce and fish! Yum-O!

Oh yeah, and at some point in time I have become addicted to The Pioneer Woman's blog. I think I've read everything on there.... and I totally want her cookbook! As soon as I do move into our glorious home, I'm totally going to be one kick-@$$ chef! that's all I have to say!!!!

Wow, my blogging has been really bad!!!!

Well, I know everyone was stressing out with me about the whole church situation. But I can now say it's all over!!! yay!!!! We got our church! It's Christ Chapel Bible Church off of Montgomery in Fort Worth, and it is the most beautiful place I have ever been to!!!!

So the two biggest nightmares (well sorta) have been taken care of!!!

We've got the DJ, the Dress, the Florist, still working on bridesmaid dresses, and trying to find invitations! No rest for the weary on this 7 month mark!

The Church Nightmares Have Begun!

I have now been looking for a church for 5 months, that's right 5 whole months! Needless to say, it's getting pretty ridiculous! I am on waiting lists now for 3 churches!!!!! ugh! How annoying! Last night I was slumbering in a peaceful sleep, then all of the sudden *bam* I'm standing in the middle of a sanctuary that I love! It's gorgeous and dramatic, everything I ever dreamed of..... them walks in the wedding coordinator with another couple. They're looking for a church on the exact same day as me, and we both love the church! The mad dash to the office then began to be able to put down a deposit, and that's when I woke up!

Ok, seriously?!

This should not be happening! I should not be having nightmares over CHURCHES! But now, I am bound and determined to sign a contract on a church by the end of next week! Yep, it's official, I am throwing in the towel! It's down to 3 churches now. 1- Shady Grove Baptist Church (They're available, but they're a bit far away) 2- Christ Chapel Bible Church (You have to be a member, which we're not... I'm going to go talk to them today) 3- First Christian Church (They're available, but my sister got married there, and I'm really not a fan of it). So there ya go! By the end of next week (I hope) we will be having our wedding ceremony at one of these three places....

Hopefully Chris can survive me till the end of next week... here's hoping!

Bridal Show Experience

Being the amazing Fiance that Chris is, he went to the Fort Worth Bridal Show with me. I was so thrilled! I've been to the shows before with my sister and friends, but I've never gone as a "bride to be" before! We got in and I got to wear my button that says bride to be on it, and it was such an amazing feeling! He was so sweet (even though he was laughing at my giddiness). We talked to several photographers, tried some wedding cake, and some stuff at the chocolate fountain! We talked to limo drivers, and even he was getting pretty excited toward the end of the day.

The next day somehow I lost my button, we were at Micheal's looking for different ideas for wedding programs, and he snuck off and bought me another bride to be button because he knew how upset I was. He stuck it on my purse without me realizing, and I got such a surprise! Can you say AMAZING! He's so good to me! I can't wait to marry him, he makes me so incredibly happy!!! I can't wait for the amazing like we're going to share together! We are in the process of booking our honeymoon too! And I know it's still 271 days away, but I'm so excited for it!!!!! It's going to be absolutely amazing, and we are going to have such a great time together! At any rate, I love my future husband! YAY! I love saying that!! !HEHE!

The excitement is brewing!

Its official! We are out of the three hundreds! That's right, only 299 days until Chris and I get married! I know, I sound a bit excessive and extreme, but I can't help it! I know we fight all the time, we practically drive each other insane, but everyday when I see him, whether I mad at him or not, I feel whole. There's just something about walking up to all 6'2" of him, swinging my arms around his neck and smackin' a kiss on him; he makes me so incredibly happy!

I've been practicing my new name again, I'd given it up awhile ago, but I've started doing it again. I also just bought a shirt, it says: The Future Mrs. Chris Teer, April 24,2010! I never thought I had the bride gene, but it's hitting (Thank goodness!). So after work today, I'm going to meet my mom and grandma at Davis Bridal. Mom is going to bring her Wedding Vail, we got it out yesterday to play with it, and it's GORGEOUS! It's a chapel length Vail with a headpiece (that will be removed). Anyway I am going to meet them, try on my dress with her Vail and see how it looks. I am also going to put my order in today to get my dress.

Oh my gosh! still can't believe it! I'm going to get my wedding dress TODAY!!! what an incredible feeling! My next big task will be finding a church. That has been SUCH a nightmare! I don't even want to think about it! But who cares! WEDDING DRESS TODAY!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A great desire for CARBS!

Why is it that women have an overwhelming desire for carbs... That is a rhetorical question, I really know the answer, I just don't like the answer! It really is unfair all of the things us women have to go through. Not only do we get to experience the annoying feeling of craps, and the associating period. Oh no, as if that wasn't enough! We also get to deal with the 5lbs you gain right before! And that my friends is ANNOYING! And with all of that, you eat everything you see even though you know you shouldn't.

I know that God made us this way, and it's a great thing that we get to do, you know, reproduce. But at the same time I can't help but think "seriously?!" It's times like these that I really don't like Eve. She had to be on her period!! That is the only reason that legitimately explains why she did what she did. She was on her period, and she was hungry, and because you're on your period and you want to eat EVERYTHING, that is why she ate the apple! Yep, that's my theory! I just thought I would share that with you! I am now going to try and stop thinking of bread.

Adventures in Swing Dancing...

About a month ago, my parents, fiance, and I went to a big band swing dance night at The Rose Chapel . I found out about it because I was looking to have my wedding ceremony there. As it turns out, we had an AMAZING night... As can be seen by the following pictures....





A big band Buddy's Big Band was there and they played some awesome music. After this fabulous night, we learned that every Tuesday night at 8 they give swing dancing lessons there. Well the four of us have been going for about 3 weeks now, and I must say, people from the 40's were in SHAPE! Last night we learned the Balboa...

"Balboa today is commonly used as a general term for dances that come from southern California during the 1920s and 1930s, which makes the history very obscure. Most of the original Balboa dancers have passed and many of the swing dancers that followed continued to use their steps and sometimes styles to integrate into their "swing" dancing which some people today call "Bal-Swing".

Balboa is a form of swing dance that started as early as 1915 and gained in popularity in the 1930s and 1940s. It is danced primarily in close embrace, and is led with a full body connection. The art of Balboa is the subtle communication between the lead and follow, like weight shifts, that most viewers cannot see. As a result, Balboa is considered more of a "dancer's dance" than a "spectator's dance".

So Chris and I got this down pretty good I think... however, I woke up this morning SORE. My poor back and legs hurt! Granted it may have something to do with the power yoga I did with Deanna at work yesterday, but I think the dancing has something to do with it. We go back next Tuesday to learn the Bal-Swing... I'm scared. Also, on the 3rd, they are having a Big 4th of July swing dance. My sister Stephanie and her fiance Brad will be in town and they East Coast Swing, so we should have FUN!!!! I'm so excited!
