Vacation Day #1

The Teers picked me up from my parents house at 9:15 Saturday morning, and we heading toward Lovefield to catch our 11:45 flight. We got there in plenty of time, and we were waiting for about an hour for our flight. the flight went very smooth and we landed in New Orleans around 1ish... then the fun began. Mr. Teer went to go get the car he rented for the week, and Chris, Mrs. teer and I were supposed to wait outside for him with the 7 HUGE suitcases....

Car #1 the rental company gave to someone else, Car #2 had a flat tire and then car #3 was teeeny tiny! We were waiting outside for him in humid New Orleans for an hour or so befor Mr teer showed up with the tiny clown car! We packed all the luggage in, and Chris and I had to scoot in super close to each other because half the back seat was taken over by luggage.. then it was off to go see the old house they lived in 30 years ago ( of course we couldn't go to the hotel room and unload first..). After the house, they had to find a liquor store because it MIGHT be closed on Sunday and they might not get any for the big houes in Florida.. So we had to do that for another hour.

We finally got to the hotel around 4pm. We unloaded the car, changed and off we went to walk around downtown New orleans... It's such a wierd place, and I don't think I want to go back. There were guys running around in red dresses, people were drunk and scantally dressed.. it was gross! We went to Pat Obriens and got the N.O. classic drink: the Hurricane. I did not enjoy mine, neither did Mrs. T, so we gave our drinks tot he boys and got Long Islands instead. Those were pretty good and us girls enjoyed them more!!! =) After that we just kept walking around and sightseeing, and everyone got a little buzzed.

Around 830 we headed down St Charles street to go get some dinner at this really nice resturant downt there. Mr and Mrs T used to go there a lot when they lived in N.O. We took the street car all the way down, and I must admit, it was a lot of fun, but very crowded!!!! I ordered the house special BBQ shrip... but its a little bit different from the shrimp in Texas... these shrimp still have THE HEADS ATTACHED!!!!!!! oh my goodness, it was the ugliest thing i've ever seen! I ate it all of couse, but those heads really bothered me! After that it was off to a Jazz club till 1! and that sums up day 1 of our summer vacation!
